Research shows NHS cost savings, high patient scores with Post Op

Two journals published research carried out by Kettering General Hospital Foundation Trust. The first study, Cost Effectiveness unlocked: Redefining clinical outcomes augmented by Post Op Digital Care Platform published in the Journal of Surgery and Research, looked at the savings made by surgical departments after adoption and use of the Post Op application. The study found savings of over £60,000 per 100 patients from reducing avoidable GP appointments or Emergency Department visits, as well as avoidable deterioration of post surgical complications, and a reduction in patient and hospital carbon footprints.

A second study, Patients Perspective on Post Op Experience published in The Journal of Surgery, focused on patient experience of using the Post Op app which found 73% of patients using the app helped them from seeking medical care elsewhere. It also found 77% of patients felt the app helped them feel more confident in their recovery.

Post Op is committed to publishing more data to support it’s work and highlight the benefits of using it’s digital technology with evidence based research.
